new purchases

Unfortunately, all of the European perm rods that I had bought and sent over from Germany have been lost in the mail.  :(  I will have to re-purchase everything, but these rods are hard to find.  It would be easier if Germany had shops like Sally Beauty (this shop sells salon and barbershop supplies to the public).

Good news is that I have purchased a pink cape and a white cape.  I noticed that I didn't have any in my cape collection.  I am awaiting them by mail....and I hope I get them!  :)  I've noticed that the postal service worldwide has been having problems lately.  I hope that everything gets cleared up and settled soon.

This upcoming week, I plan on editing a family video and starting on a video for my son's school. I'm sure that this will keep me busy for the next week as well.  Once done, I'll get back to editing other fun hair videos that are sitting in my editing bay.

Oh!  I forgot to mention.  When cleaning out the garage yesterday, I found a fake mustache assortment and a fake beard kit.  Maybe I'll do something with these sometime.  :D

vintage cosmetology textbook is up

I'm adding all scanned pages of a 1950's UK cosmetology textbook to my page on a photo sharing site called  The exact url to these pages is

These pages are perfect for those who have the vintage 1900's perm machine kits and cold wave kits, and who have always wanted to learn how to use them.  You'll learn wrapping techinques and all that other good stuff.  There are illustrations as well.  This ought to keep you busy for awhile.  These pages are the BEST resource for these types of perms.  Again, a big Thank You goes to the lovely man who sent me the pages to be scanned and shared.

Another chapter or two from another textbook will follow within the upcoming months or so.

I probably won't be able to upload all lthe pages tonight.  Whatever I don't get to, I'll get to tomorrow.

The above link can also be found in the VINTAGE MANUALS link in the menu on the website.
